A little too close for comfort...

x.x There's a baby opossum in my toybox that's in the living room.... And of course it's in a very cluttered area of the house. (More so then normal)
x.x I don't really want him in the house... I already had that problem last year when one got in the kitchen and hid in that compartment under the stove where pan lids are kept. It pooed every where.... it was awful smelling.... >>

So I guess I just have to wait it out.. I don't dare rummage for some sturdy gloves and try to capture him myself... I just lure them into a cat carrying case and take them to a secluded area.... That's better for them than eating cat food...

well we are not allowed to bring people up close. it is illegal in oklahoma. only trained people can be up close. so advertising an up close experience is not a good thing. even though i would love to do that when you sponsor an animal... *sigh* that would get a lot of people to sponsor. we can't even legally get them in the second barrier around the exhibit... really sad......... >.< stupid laws

the soda can idea might be something. i'll see what the others think about it on sunday :D

Well, some things that the Oregon zoo does is to get their public involved in what they do. Also offering up close and animal experiences is something that I've seen a lot of zoos do. It gives the zoo income and gives their visitors a once in a life time touching experiance.
And a recent thing the Oregon zoo is doing to raise money for their Predators of the Serengeti exhibit is to have people bring in pop cans. It may not be much but it's always something.
And yet another idea is to have people offer donations of items, like enrichment toys for some of the animals.
